Occam Solutions Awarded CMMI Level 2 Development Rating

Washington, DC (March 26, 2012) – Occam Solutions, Inc., was awarded the prestigious Level 2 rating (Development) by Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute. CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective procedures which will improve their overall performance. CMMI-based methods of improvement include identifying an organization’s strengths and weaknesses and making process changes to turn weaknesses into strengths.

Attainment of the Level 2 rating was the result of a three year Mentor-Protégé relationship with mentor CSC and was facilitated with the assistance of Lunarline, a cybersecurity solutions and certified security training organization. Reaching level 2 required Occam to satisfy all of the CMMI model’s goals for a collection of process areas or set of process areas targeted for improvement. Occam will immediately begin work towards a Level 3 rating by creating the required processes and artifacts to become a Level 3 “Defined” company. As a result of the level 2 rating Occam is better positioned to support clients and partner firms with consistently high quality service and deliverables.

Upon award of the contract Occam Solutions president, Dan Chun stated “This achievement was a real team effort.  It is a testament to all the Occam, CSC, and Lunarline employees that worked diligently to get the company to this level of proficiency.  We congratulate you all.”
