Hardware Exploitation Engineer

Location: McLean, VA

Job Desc:
Daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Forensic examinations of High Priority Digital Media
• Reverse engineering, failure analysis, and vulnerability analysis of hardware
• Modification of hardware to enable forensic analysis or to change functionality
• Enhancement and maintenance of frameworks, processes, design patters, techniques, tools, and standards for digital media exploitation
• Full-scope forensic examinations
• Analysis of embedded platform firmware and operating systems
• Creation and execution of test plans
• Technical support for federated partners, internal customer, and deployed platforms
• Global (deployable) technical exploitation response capabilities, as required
• Planning, integration, and execution of full-spectrum technical exploitation plans, exercises, training, and operations as required
• Regular collaboration with reverse engineering team

Job Requirements:
• U.S. citizenship
• Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility AND the ability to successfully meet the requirements to obtain a CI Polygraph
• B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline and at least ten (10) years of demonstrated technical exploitation experience, or M.S. in Computer Science or related discipline and at least eight (8) years of related experience
• Experience in Assembly Language and C/C++ programming
• Skills in reverse engineering of embedded systems
• Knowledge of embedded system design, communication with peripheral devices at the hardware level, and reverse engineering of system software
• Skills such as computer forensics, DOMEX, dynamic reverse engineering, and malware analysis
• Ability to design, implement and document computer forensics services to include evidence seizure, computer forensic analysis and data recovery, such as EnCase, FTK, Winhex
• Ability to convey technical information effectively and concisely to a wide range of audiences
• Knowledge of SQL and database formats
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must present a polished and professional attitude and demeanor
• This position will require the ability to deploy occasionally to OCONUS locations
• As part of the evaluation process, qualified candidates will required to successfully complete a proctored technical assessment

• Experience with RTOS
• Industry standard forensic certifications (e.g., EnCE, ACE, CCE, GIAC)
• Relative work experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Hardware configuration and network/data communications
o Software development and scripting (EnScript, Python)
o Law enforcement evidence seizure
o File format reverse engineering
• Strong understanding of cryptography
• Demonstrated experience leading teams
• Experience with mobile operating systems and acquisition (iOS, Android, Blackberry, Nokia)
